MAGIC NUMBER 18

Let the countdown begin.

After the Angels survive to once again beat the Oakland A's 4 to 3, along with the loss of Seattle to New York tonight, the magic number countdown has begun. According to the accounting firm of Kenny and Wheeler (friends of mine that know math much better then I do ) the Angels magic number is now 18.  The magic number is the amount of Angel wins combined with Mariner losses it will take for the Halos to clinch the Western Division. What a difference a week and a half can make. Just a week ago Monday, the Angels where only 2 games in front of Seattle with a big three game series facing the Halos with the M's. 10 days later the Angels find themselves 7 and a half games in front of Seattle with less then a month to go. The season is not over yet. The next 5 games will tell us just exactly where the Angels stand. After tomorrow's game with Oakland, the red hot Cleveland Indians come to town. Both teams find themselves in front in their divisions. If either team gets swept by the other, not only will it hurt that teams chances to have the best record in baseball, it could give either the Mariners or the Tigers a chance to get back in their division races

Just play Angel baseball and the team should be all right..

Once again, the Angels MAGIC NUMBER IS " 18 ".
